Job Description: Facilities Planner - Architecture
Position Overview:
The Facilities Planner in the Architecture department is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize the use of physical spaces across various facilities. This role requires a strong background in architecture and design, as well as proficiency in space planning and project management. The Facilities Planner will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that facilities are designed and utilized efficiently to meet the organization's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's facilities, including architectural layout, building codes, and space utilization requirements.
2. Create and implement strategic plans for optimizing the use of physical spaces, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze data, and identify opportunities for space optimization.
4. Conduct facility audits to assess current space utilization and identify areas for improvement or repurposing.
5. Develop space plans, including conceptual layouts, floor plans, and furniture arrangements, to support efficient and effective space utilization.
6. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure that design plans align with organizational standards and requirements.
7. Manage and oversee facility renovation or relocation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
8. Conduct regular reviews and analysis of space utilization metrics, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of facility plans, architectural drawings, and project specifications.
10. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in facility planning and design, incorporating innovative solutions into projects when appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
2. Proven experience (minimum X years) in facilities planning or architecture, with a focus on space utilization optimization.
3. In-depth knowledge of architectural principles, building codes, and regulations.
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD or other architectural design software.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
6. Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
8. Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and precision in space planning and project execution.
